It’s time for some Monday Musings. Except it’s Tuesday!! So, what gives?
Yesterday I was so tempted to beat myself up about not getting this Substack out. I’ve recently taken on a new work endeavor that’s consumed a ton of my time, and it’s been hard for me to sit at my desk and work on creative projects when I feel like I have so many other tasks on my plate. Plus, learning new skills is always time-consuming, and I for one always forget about that until it’s time to try something new again.
Still… this little community here on Substack means a lot to me, as small as it may be. And writing was my first creative love, so I want to make time for it. I need to make time for it. Even if that means letting it be imperfect.

So Monday Musings are coming out on Tuesday, and I’m actually at peace with that for once. Logically, I’m well aware that life goes on if I don’t post on Substack. There’s a chance no one would even notice. But I’m so Type A that missing a deadline can feel like a character indictment, and that’s a trait I’m actively working on. So instead of skipping my Monday newsletter entirely, I’m letting it come out on Tuesday. Because showing up imperfectly is better than not showing up at all. Failing is better than refusing to try. And progress isn’t rendered by perfection; it’s simply the repeated act of stepping up to the plate. So this is me stepping up to the plate, and being imperfect in doing so.
If you’re reading this, I hope you give yourself permission to be imperfect as well. All that matters is that you keep showing up.
Happy Tuesday, friends!! :)
Eyeing, Buying, and Trying
A slouchy onesie would ordinarily be the very opposite of my cup of tea. But the fabric on this Free People onesie is so soft that I decided to buy one. Can you guess what color I chose? (Spoiler alert: the answer is pink. It’s almost always pink.)
Speaking of pink, I love the pop of color in these New Balance 9060s! Better yet, they’re currently 25% off!
The limoncello print on this romper is insaneeeeee. I love me some Amanda Uprichard!
If you know how much I love statement pieces, then it should come as no surprise that I want starfish on my jeans!! These Free People Surfside Patched Low-Rise Jeans aren’t for everyone, but they’re definitely for me!!
Polo Ralph Lauren was one of my first fashion obsessions. I feel like they just design hit after hit, all while keeping it classic. This Polo cardigan is so simple and yet the bright red makes a bold statement. LOVE.
In honor of the whole trying element of Eyeing, Buying, and Trying, I’m happy to report that so far so good on these new pimple patches! I’ve only used them once, but they were definitely more effective and fast-acting than the brand I was using prior. (And for my acne-prone girlies, they have salicylic acid! IYKYK.)
I keep these sea salt Chomps on order for our household! If you’re also a Chomp lover, you can subscribe and save to save some moola. We run through these so quickly!!
I want a true blue denim barrel jean, and I love that these Good Luck Printed Barrel Jeans are a lovely dark wash while still being FUN! Do I need to order them? Probably.
Summer might be winding down but my love of gingham is in full force!! This cutie hair bow may or may not be in my cart at the moment.
I love to cook, and ceramic non-stick pans are a must for me. (And for my husband too, to be honest. We take our pans very seriously around here!!) I’m excited to try this pan from Our Place. I love that it’s non-toxic as well!
Weekly Intentions
This is the part of my Substack where I embarrass myself. But should it be embarrassing, really? Maybe I need to reread the opening of this email. ;)
Long story short, I had two goals that I shared with y’all last week. And I failed at them both! sigh
Even while writing this in real-time, I found myself shaking my head at myself in frustration. Stick to your goals! Balance it all! Stay up all night if you have to! That’s the way I’d normally talk to myself. But I’m working through health issues, learning to slow down, and also doing the personal development of giving myself more grace. So although I’m bummed I didn’t hit these goals last week, I’m going to share them again this week—plus one more. And I’m going to be energized about working toward them, while still remembering that I’m only human. (Fingers crossed on remembering the latter fact!!)
~ Post 3 Substacks this week. Even if the cadence isn’t ideal, I’ve got to rebuild the muscle.
~ Post at least 3 Reels on IG. I! Can! Do it!!
~ Read 50 pages and finish my audiobook. If you knew how long I’ve been babysitting the same paperback and audiobook, you’d probably question me being a so-called bookworm. And perhaps rightfully so! I have about 100 pages left in the thriller I’m reading and about three hours left in my audiobook. I want to read 50 pages, if not more, in the paperback. I want to finish the audiobook as well.
I have got to kick this reading slump, so I’m all ears as to what I should read next!! Any suggestions?
In the meantime, I’d love if you’d share an intention or goal with me that you’re working on this week.
Let’s make ourselves proud!! :)

Perfectionism often calls itself standards while actually postponing feedback. Imperfect work can be revised; invisible work can’t teach you anything. I’m subscribed; keep up the work, Alexis.
